From the bustling city of Nairobi to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, and Amboseli National Park, you’ll have the opportunity to witness diverse wildlife and breathtaking landscapes. The trip also includes a visit to Mombasa, where you’ll get to explore the city’s rich culture and history before ending your journey with a relaxing beach stay. Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park – Amboseli – Mombasa
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Nairobi National Park + Giraffe Centre Tour
After breakfast 0630hrs then proceed to Nairobi National Park for an exciting 4hrs game drive through the park. The park is home to diverse wildlife from the waterbucks, impalas, African Buffaloes, Burchell’s zebra, the Ostrich, lions, cheetahs, over 400 bird species. The park is also one of Kenya most successful Rhino Sanctuaries which has both species of Rhino, both black and white. There is an intriguing must see place within the park that is the ivory burning site monument where the former President Moi burnt 12 tons of ivory in 1989 in a selfless gesture to induce the world to burn the trade. You will have a picnic lunch at the park then proceed to Giraffe Centre which protects highly endangered Rothschild giraffe, where you can observe, hand feed, or even kiss one of the giraffes from a raised wooden structure. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
Day 3: David Sheldrick + Mamba Village + Bomas of Kenya
After breakfast, proceed to David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust which provides a haven to orphaned baby Elephants rescued by David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Lunch will be held at Nairobi Mamba Village Resort (at your own cost). Located in Nairobi’s leafy Karen suburb about 14km away from hustle and bustle of Nairobi CBD. It’s a nature paradise covering over 30 acres of land and famous for its crocodile farm that is a home for over 70 Nile Crocodiles. Maasai Ostriches can be found around, and you can come into direct contact with them when given the opportunity to feed these giant magnificent birds. The tour will end with an energetic dance at the Bomas of Kenya Where you will get to enjoy the diversity of Kenyan traditional music and dances. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, check-out and depart for Masai Mara. You will then drive through Narok, a Masai town, and arrive at your camp in the Mara in time for lunch. After lunch, you will have a late afternoon game drive until sunset. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 &6: Full day at Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, have a full day game drive, with packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lion, as well as its abundant resident wildlife and its one of the few places where it’s possible to see the big five during a morning’s game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicle and several even climb onto the roof to get better view of prospective prey.
For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagle, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks 4 of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sun birds. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve to Lake Nakuru National Park
Have an early morning breakfast at the hotel, check-out and depart for Lake Nakuru, enjoy a game drive en-route. You will arrive in Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head for a game drive, you will enjoy beautiful sights of Lake Nakuru filled with pink coloured flamingos and also view animals like zebras, giraffes and many more. After the game drive you will drive back to your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park
An early morning game drive before breakfast to try to find leopard which are frequently sighted in Lake Nakuru Park and return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will take a further drive to seek out the 2 species of rhino found in the park, returning before lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, relaxing by the lodge swimming pool before an evening game drive in the park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Lake Nakuru National Park to Amboseli National Park
After early breakfast, depart to Amboseli which is about 7 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, check-in to lodge, have lunch and start your afternoon safari in Amboseli till sunset. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Amboseli National Park
Wakeup call and depart for a morning game drive before breakfast. Return back to the lodge for a full breakfast. The rest of the morning will be spent at leisure. In the afternoon depart for a game drive at the Park in search of the” Mighty Giants”. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Amboseli National Park to Mombasa
Have an early morning breakfast, check -out and depart for Mombasa. Enjoy a game drive en-route. You will be dropped off at Emali Train Station where you will board the SGR to Mombasa. Arrive in the afternoon at Mombasa Terminus train station, where you will be transferred to the hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Mombasa City Tour
After breakfast get to explore more of Mombasa. This day will entirely be spent on excursions whereby you will get to visit Mamba Village the largest crocodile farm. A high spot for many tourists is watching crocodiles fight for chunks of meat during feeding time. Then proceed to Bomb lulu Workshop and Cultural Centre which a Project for the Association for the Physically Disabled in Kenya. Guests can also purchase handcrafted souvenirs like wood carvings, textiles, jewellery, leather crafts, tribal dance performances and explore traditional homesteads.
After visiting the Centre, you can stop by the restaurant to sample the finest Kenyan inspired cuisine for lunch (at your own cost). Afterwards we will head to Fort Jesus which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built by the Portuguese to protect the harbor. You will have a chance to walk under the famous Moi Avenue Elephant Tusks used in the filming of adventure movies made about Africa. The tusks were constructed to commemorate Queen’s Elizabeth visit to Mombasa in 1952. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 13: Wasini Island Tour
This is a full day trip to the Kisite Mpunguti Marine National Park which is found off the Kenyan Coast about 50km south of Diani, near the Tanzania border. This breath-taking marine park offers some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world. You will be picked up from the hotel and driven to Shimoni.
Upon arrival at Shimoni Jetty you will board an Arabic Dhow and sail to Kisite Marine Park where you can snorkel and swim. If you are lucky enough you can swim with the dolphins. Kisite is the best and most accessible Marine Park in Kenya which also has a fantastic variety of fishes and coral. Snorkelers have also been lucky enough to see whales and whale sharks.
After snorkeling you head back to Wasini Island for a late lunch. This will truly be a meal to remember served by smiling Swahili ladies. After lunch you have time to relax and visit the local village. Arrive back at Shimoni jetty in the evening and be transferred to your accommodation.
Day 14: Mombasa – Beach Relaxation
Wake-up call for breakfast at the hotel, this day will be spent for outdoor activities; water sports (water skiing, swimming, water surfing, fishing) golfing, relaxation and beach walks. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 15: Depart Mombasa to Nairobi
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, being your last day, have fun at the beach before returning to the hotel, check-out and be transferred to Mombasa Train Station for your train back to Nairobi.
